Episode 6: Doing law differently: Creating a Career that works for you (with Naaman Kranz)

Season #1

In this episode I interview Naaman Kranz. Naaman is an example of a lawyer who has carved out their own very unique, passion driven career path. Naaman lives in Canberra and works 3 days a week as a Special Counsel at lawyerbank, a private law firm in Canberra, where he specialises in litigation and administrative law. Naaman also works 2 days a week as a Principal Lawyer at the Animal Law Institute, which is a Community Legal Centre in Melbourne that is dedicated to protecting animals and advocating for the interests through the Australian legal system. In May 2019, Naaman started K & R Animal law with his friend and colleague Mike Rosalky. K & R Animal Law is the first commercial law firm in Australia that is dedicated to helping animals and their human defenders. Naaman and Mike run K & R Animal Law primarily on nights and weekends. In 2022, Naaman and Mike were the inaugural winners of the Brian Sherman animal law prize and recognised for their work in using the law to help animal protection organisations and animal advocates. In his spare time, Naaman enjoys riding his motorbike, playing guitar, cooking-up tasty vegan meals and hanging out with his cat Loki.
